Document Type: Specification
Status: Architecture
Version: v1.1
Authority: HeadOffice
Applies To: Affiliate Brain opportunity lifecycle tracking, stage governance, and pipeline visibility
Parent: Affiliate Brain Architecture

Purpose
This document defines the Affiliate Opportunity Pipeline as the structured view of all affiliate opportunities currently moving through the MWMS evaluation and testing system.
The pipeline acts as the operational control board for Affiliate Brain.
It allows MWMS to track opportunities as they progress through the lifecycle defined by the Affiliate Brain Canon.
This prevents opportunities from being forgotten, misclassified, or tested without proper governance.
Scope
This specification applies to:
• Affiliate Brain opportunity stage tracking
• lifecycle visibility across evaluation and testing
• movement of offers between operational stages
• governance of stage transitions
• pipeline-level monitoring of active, paused, scaled, and retired opportunities
This document defines the stages, record structure, and movement rules of the affiliate opportunity pipeline.
It does not govern:
• offer scoring methodology
• Velocity scoring logic
• campaign execution instructions
• creative production
• financial approval authority
• detailed graveyard record structure
Those remain governed by the Offer Scoring Model, Velocity Decision Engine, Affiliate Brain Canon, Finance Brain, and related operational documents.
Definition / Rules
Core Principle
Affiliate opportunities move through the system in defined stages.
Every opportunity must exist in exactly one stage at any time.
Movement between stages represents a decision made by Affiliate Brain, HeadOffice, or the Velocity Decision Engine.
Pipeline Stages
The MWMS Affiliate Opportunity Pipeline consists of the following stages.
Intake
New opportunities that have been discovered but not yet analysed.
These opportunities must be documented using the Offer Intelligence Page Template or the relevant intake structure before deeper progression.
Evaluation
Opportunities currently undergoing research and structural analysis.
Affiliate Brain and connected intelligence systems may perform:
• market research
• mechanism analysis
• funnel evaluation
• compliance checks
• competitive mapping
Velocity scoring has not yet occurred.
Approved for Test
Opportunities that have passed Velocity evaluation and have been approved for controlled testing.
Creative development and campaign preparation may begin.
Testing
Campaigns currently running in the market.
Traffic acquisition and performance monitoring are active.
Opportunities in this stage are generating live data.
Scaled
Campaigns demonstrating strong performance signals.
Traffic volume may be increased under the supervision of the appropriate governance layers.
Creative iteration may continue.
Paused
Campaigns temporarily stopped due to performance concerns, external market changes, or testing constraints.
Paused campaigns may return to Testing or be moved to Retired.
Retired
Campaigns that have completed their lifecycle.
Reasons may include:
• market saturation
• declining performance
• compliance risk
• vendor changes
Retired campaigns should be recorded within the Offer Graveyard or related rejected-offer intelligence systems.
Pipeline Record Structure
Each opportunity tracked in the pipeline should include the following information:
• Offer Name
• Affiliate Network
• Offer Intelligence Page
• Lifecycle Stage
• Velocity Score
• Testing Status
• Primary Hook Tested
• Decision Authority
• Notes
Lifecycle Movement Rules
Opportunities may move between stages only after a decision event.
Examples include:
• Evaluation → Approved for Test
• Approved for Test → Testing
• Testing → Scaled
• Testing → Paused
• Paused → Retired
All stage transitions should be documented within the system where possible.
Governance
Affiliate Brain is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the pipeline.
HeadOffice may intervene if pipeline governance rules are violated.
SIT Brain may monitor the pipeline for:
• opportunities bypassing Velocity
• campaigns running without proper classification
• missing intelligence records
Outcome
The Affiliate Opportunity Pipeline ensures that MWMS always knows:
• what opportunities are being analysed
• what campaigns are currently active
• which opportunities are scaling
• which offers have failed or been retired
This transforms the affiliate system from reactive marketing activity into a structured experimentation pipeline.
