Strategy Brain Canon

Document Type: Canon
Status: Canon
Version: v1.1
Authority: HeadOffice
Applies To: Strategy Brain outputs, schemas, UI, automations, and directional synthesis across MWMS
Parent: MWMS Canon

Purpose

Strategy Brain exists to convert repeated cross-brain signals into governed strategic direction.

It sits between:

Signal generation
(Affiliate Brain, PPL Brain, Social Brain, Newsletter Intelligence, AIBS)

and

Execution planning
(Experimentation Brain and Operations Brain)

Strategy Brain is where patterns become strategy, but not where money is spent.

Its purpose is to:

• detect cross-brain directional patterns
• turn repeated signals into structured strategic meaning
• create governed strategic objects for HeadOffice review
• reduce reactive or fragmented strategic thinking
• ensure cross-brain learning becomes usable direction without execution drift

Strategy Brain does not execute.
It does not allocate capital.
It does not approve experiments.
It does not override enforcement layers.

Scope

This canon applies to:

• Strategy Brain authority boundaries
• strategic synthesis across multiple Brains
• Strategy Insight creation
• Strategy Hypothesis creation
• Experiment Plan recommendation logic
• directional routing recommendations
• escalation thresholds for cross-brain strategic patterns

This canon governs the constitutional role and boundaries of Strategy Brain.

It does not govern:

• campaign execution
• capital allocation
• experiment approval
• scaling approval
• compliance interpretation
• integrity enforcement
• canon mutation
• operational sequencing authority

Those remain governed by HeadOffice, Finance Brain, Risk Brain, SIT Brain, Experimentation Brain, Operations Brain, and the wider MWMS canon structure.

Definition / Rules

Structural Positioning

Strategy Brain exists as a governed synthesis layer between signal generation and execution planning.

Its role is to interpret what repeated patterns may mean directionally for MWMS.

It is not a funding layer.
It is not an execution layer.
It is not an enforcement layer.

Core Function

Strategy Brain may:

• detect cross-brain patterns, including wins, losses, failure modes, and repeated angles
• create Strategy Insights as structured learnings
• create Strategy Hypotheses as testable directional statements
• generate Experiment Plans as recommendations only
• route recommendations to the correct Brain through governed pathways

Strategy Brain may interpret strategic meaning.

It may not convert that meaning into execution authority.

Non-Functions (Hard Limits)

Strategy Brain may NOT:

• approve experiments
• allocate budget
• execute campaigns
• modify Affiliate Brain canonical scoring
• override SIT, Finance, or Risk enforcement
• issue guarantees or performance claims

Any attempt to move from strategic interpretation into action authority is a structural violation.

Authority Boundary

Final authority remains with:

• HeadOffice — direction
• Finance Brain — capital
• Risk Brain — exposure
• SIT Brain — integrity and enforcement

Strategy Brain is advisory and synthesis only.

It may recommend.
It may frame.
It may escalate.
It may not approve.

Primary Output Objects

1. Strategy Insight

Definition:

A structured pattern or learning extracted from repeated signals.

Purpose:

To preserve directional meaning from cross-brain evidence without forcing immediate action.

2. Strategy Hypothesis

Definition:

A testable statement that can be evaluated by Experimentation Brain.

Purpose:

To convert strategic interpretation into a structured hypothesis without directly authorising execution.

3. Experiment Plan

Definition:

A proposed test design referencing a hypothesis, target Brain, and priority.

Purpose:

To recommend what may be worth testing next, without granting approval to run it.

Input Sources (Expected)

Strategy Brain may receive inputs such as:

• experiment outcomes, including wins, losses, and outcome_label
• failure patterns, including failure_mode_tag
• angle patterns, including angle_cluster
• interpretations, including cognitive friction and trust gap
• newsletter intelligence signals
• cross-brain theme tags

All strategic outputs should be traceable to structured upstream signals.

Escalation Rules

Strategy Brain must escalate to HeadOffice when any of the following occur:

• a pattern repeats 3 or more times across separate experiments within 30 days
• a failure_mode_tag indicates compliance risk or platform policy risk
• a winning pattern would require increased spend and therefore a Finance gate
• any SIT integrity flags are present for the same review period

Escalation must remain explicit.

Strategy Brain may not silently convert pattern strength into implied approval.

Session Rule

Strategy Brain outputs are only valid if the session is invoked correctly under MWMS rules.

No free-mode strategy may be promoted into Strategy Brain Canon.

Unframed or ungoverned strategic thinking is not valid MWMS strategy.

Strategic Discipline Rule

Strategy Brain must convert repetition into clarity, not noise into certainty.

A repeated pattern may justify interpretation.

It does not automatically justify action.

Strategic direction must remain downstream of evidence and upstream of approval.

Drift Protection

The system must prevent:

• Strategy Brain outputs being mistaken for experiment approval
• strategic recommendations being interpreted as capital permission
• cross-brain patterns being treated as proof without proper validation
• Strategy Brain drifting into execution planning authority
• free-mode or off-structure strategy entering canon
• enforcement layers being bypassed because strategic direction feels compelling

Strategy Brain must remain a governed synthesis layer only.

Architectural Intent

Strategy Brain Canon exists to give MWMS a formal place where repeated cross-brain signals can be turned into structured strategic direction.

Its role is to stop valuable patterns from remaining fragmented while also preventing strategy from drifting into execution, capital approval, or enforcement authority.

This preserves a clean separation between:

• evidence
• strategy
• execution
• governance
• capital control

Final Rule

Strategy Brain may shape direction, but it may never become direction authority.

Interpretation is its function.
Approval is not.
