Purpose
The MCR Insight Status Definitions standardises the status labels used for intelligence captured within MCR.
Consistent status definitions ensure:
clear lifecycle visibility
consistent routing decisions
reduced classification confusion
improved review discipline
clear separation between ideas and approved structures
Core Principle
Status indicates maturity of understanding, not importance.
An insight may be highly important but still early stage.
Approved Status Labels
Only the following statuses should be used.
Status Definitions
Captured
Meaning:
Insight has been recorded but not yet reviewed.
Characteristics:
new information
unclassified
requires evaluation
Typical Location:
MCR Intelligence Log
Under Review
Meaning:
Insight is currently being evaluated for relevance or routing.
Characteristics:
classification being considered
relationship to Brains being assessed
Deferred
Meaning:
Insight is intentionally postponed for later evaluation.
Characteristics:
useful but not currently required
dependent on future system stage
Typical Location:
MCR Deferred Review Register
Experimental
Meaning:
Insight requires testing before classification.
Characteristics:
hypothesis stage
validation required
Related Brain:
Experimentation Brain
Candidate
Meaning:
Insight is likely to be promoted into a Brain.
Characteristics:
clear use-case emerging
relevance confirmed
Promoted
Meaning:
Insight has been formally integrated into a Brain.
Characteristics:
structural relevance confirmed
governed by Brain authority
Linked
Meaning:
Insight has relationships across multiple Brains.
Characteristics:
cross functional relevance
shared system logic

Archived
Meaning:
Insight retained for reference but not currently relevant.
Characteristics:
low current relevance
retained for completeness
Rejected
Meaning:
Insight determined not useful for MWMS system.
Characteristics:
does not align with architecture
duplicates existing structure
lacks strategic relevance
Status Flow Example
Captured → Under Review → Candidate → Promoted
or
Captured → Under Review → Deferred
or
Captured → Experimental → Candidate → Promoted
or
Captured → Rejected
Governance Rules
Statuses must not be invented outside this list.
Status changes must reflect real evaluation progress.
Status must not imply execution approval.
Promotion requires Brain alignment.

Structural Principle
Clear status definitions reduce ambiguity.
Ambiguity creates structural drift.
Standardisation protects system clarity.
