1. Purpose

The Research Brain Affiliate Handoff Protocol defines how intelligence originating in Research Brain becomes visible to Affiliate Brain for opportunity evaluation.

This protocol ensures:

• research insights are not lost
• opportunity signals are traceable
• Affiliate Brain decisions are evidence-informed
• Research Brain does not directly select offers
• Affiliate Brain does not operate without intelligence context

Research Brain informs.

Affiliate Brain evaluates.

2. Authority Boundary

Research Brain DOES:

• identify signals
• identify emerging opportunity conditions
• identify customer problems
• identify mechanism patterns
• identify market demand signals
• identify competitive pressure signals
• identify structural changes in traffic or platforms

Research Brain DOES NOT:

• approve offers
• allocate capital
• define test budgets
• create experiments
• create ads
• override Affiliate Brain decisions

Affiliate Brain retains decision authority regarding opportunity progression.

3. Handoff Trigger Conditions

Research Brain may initiate a handoff when one or more of the following are observed:

• emerging demand signal
• repeated problem pattern
• mechanism pattern observed across multiple sources
• strong customer pain indicator
• rising search trend
• observable competitor momentum
• structural change in traffic environment
• high Market Pressure Index
• research insight indicating potential monetisation opportunity

Handoffs may originate from:

Research Signal Logs
Market Pressure Index updates
Customer insight clustering
course intelligence extraction
newsletter intelligence extraction
competitor observation
prior experiment learning

4. Handoff Output Structure

Each handoff must produce a structured intelligence summary.

5. Affiliate Brain Intake Behaviour

Upon receiving a Research Brain handoff, Affiliate Brain may:

add item to Opportunity Queue

create Offer Intelligence page

request additional research

place signal in monitoring state

reject signal as non-actionable

return request to Research Brain for clarification

Affiliate Brain is not required to act on every Research handoff.

Affiliate Brain retains evaluation authority.

6. Traceability Requirement

Each Research → Affiliate handoff must remain traceable.

The handoff ID may later appear in:

Opportunity Queue records

Offer Intelligence pages

Experiment Registry records

Testing Intelligence Log entries

This allows signal lineage to be tracked across the system.

7. Governance Rule

Research Brain may generate intelligence signals.

Affiliate Brain determines opportunity relevance.

Neither Brain may override the other’s authority domain.

Research Brain provides context.

Affiliate Brain provides evaluation.

HeadOffice retains final governance authority.

9. Future Expansion

This protocol provides the template for future Brain connectors:

Affiliate Brain → Finance Brain

Finance Brain → Experimentation Brain

Experimentation Brain → Ads Brain

Additional automation layers may later reference:

Handoff ID

Offer ID

Experiment ID

Signal ID

to allow cross-Brain traceability.
